Step 1: Launch the Apple Watch App on your iPhone and scroll down until you find the "Friends" tab.

Step 2: Tap on it and then start adding your friends.

If you have favorite contacts already set on your iPhone, they will automatically be part of your friends list.

NOTE: You can only add up to 12 friend on your watch.

To access your friends on Apple Watch...

Step 1: From anywhere, press the side button below the digital crown.

Step 2: Use the digital crown to scroll through your friends list.

To contact them, just simply tap on their image and press one of the two (sometimes three) buttons at the bottom of the screen.

You will have three options in some friends. The following are what you will see.
• Call
• Send a Digital Touch (Only if they have an Apple Watch)
• Message

To send a digital touch, please stay tooned for next week's tutorial which will show you how to do that.

iOS Device(s) crash when receiving a sertain message.

A new glitch has just showed how you can crash your iPhone/iPad/iPod touch when a certain message is received via iMessage. This aforementioned message is known as "effective power".

effective.
Power
لُلُصّبُلُلصّبُررً ॣ ॣh ॣ ॣ
冗
This message contains a set of unicodes combined with Arabic text which work together to crash said device. Actually, it only "resprings" or "reboots" your device.  In some cases it may also "brick" your messages App resulting in unresponsiveness and/or crashing of aforementioned App. To preface, this will most likely not harm your device, but just to be safe, I would not suggest trying this out yourself.

Below I have povided a video with further explanation of said glitch. I also provided a plethora of videos and articles on how to fix the messages crash bug on iOS.

To reiterate, it is confirmed that this glitch will crash your Apple Watch and the Messages App on Mac OS X.

Apple has also released a notice informing the public that they are aware of the issue and are working on a fix with a software update release.

Have you experienced the messages glitch? if so, please let me know down below.

UPDATE...

This bug also works on 3rd party Apps like Snapchat, Twitter, and WhatsApp.

Google Quietly Pushes Material Design Update to its YouTube App for iOS

Google last night has released an unexpected but knowing update to its iOS App. Today comes about 2 years since youtube has updated its design in summer 2013.

As you see in the top image above, as aforementioned, YouTube just quietly released its material design update to its iOS counterpart. This update also brings a new User Interface which mainly establishes a new navigation by the new 4 tabs at the bottom of the screen.

I have expected this update to come but not with this design. Though i kind of like it better than the Android version. Hopefully Google steps up its game because they still have a few more Apps to update with a new makeover such as Google+. On the other hand, iPad has not yet recieved the material design makeover to the aforementioned software. But I might be wrong since it may be that I checked on an iPad 2.

What do you think of the new material design update? Let me know what you think down below.

Is online learning a great thing?

If you don't already know, ELearning is a place where students can take online courses. It is one of the worst places to learn mainly because of the user interface and the difficulty of getting things done.

The UI-

I am taking a course online and getting things done is SO difficult. First, The courses are not properly organised. Some of the assignments in the homepage are mixed with other classes and it can be confusing. Next, The overall course modules are not great. Though they are organised in folders, when going through a module, it is not easy due to that it feels like you are using a browser within a browser.

Ease of Use-

This is what drives me away from succeeding in a course. When completing an assignment, Their are buttons all over the place. I personally can't figure out what button(s) to press because some are on top of the page while others are at the bottom of the page. It is super confusing.

Positives of ELearning-
- I can access all my assignments from anywhere
- I can submit assignments at my own pace.

The bad about ELearning-
- It has a horrible Interface
- It is not easy to use
- It is not made for first time online course takers.

Conclusion-

Overall, ELearning is a great tool, but if students really are passionate to passing, they need a good working environment.

Are you an online course taker? If so, what are your experiences?

Pre-Ordering The Apple Watch

I have just Pre-Ordered the Apple Watch as of Fri. Apr, 10  7:03 PM. My hesitation by getting the Apple Watch was pretty strong, so I reserved a try on at my local Apple Store in Victor NY.

Arrival-

I personally got to Eastview about 3 hours before my appointment. But here is a suggested time range. The drive from my house to the mall was about 20-30 minutes. Depending on where your Apple store is located, I suggest getting their atleast 15-20 minutes before your appointment. This way you are sure to get someone to assist you.

Procedure-

When walking in to the store, I was greeted by one of the employees. He asked me why I was their and I simply just told him that I had a try on appointment for the Apple Watch. He signed me in and told me that someone will meet with me shortly. He also let me know that their is a demo setup that I can play with until the employee is ready for me. Two minutes in the store and playing with the demo, the gentleman came over to me and let me know that he has informed someone and he will see me shortly. Six minutes in and the guy shows up 10 minutes earlier than the time I scheduled. He greeted me and took me to one of the try on tables to try on the watch.

During the Appointment-

He asked me a fiew questions on what watch I was going to get, what is my price range that I was looking for, What bands I wanted, and If I was going to use the watch for business or personal use.

After that, He showed me the Two watches I was most interested.

Apple Watch Sport-
- Space gray with black sport band
- 42 mm.

He showed me how to put it on and asked me how I liked it. It was very comfortable and super light. Plus it did not look bulky nor too big on my wrist since I have super tiny ones.

Apple Watch-
- Silver with Melanies Loop
- 38 mm

It felt a little heavier considering that it was steel instead of aluminum. But it was not a huge notice. The only consern was that the band got caught on my arm hair. Other than that, It was a beautiful pic.

Demo tour-

After trying the Watches on, I asked if he can give me a tour of the watch. He was super friendly about giving me a tour and he took me to a demo unit to give me a rundown of the features. He obviously knew what he was talking about. It was a wonderful experience.

Pre-Order-

I came to a conclusion that I wanted the 42 mm Apple watch Sport with black sport band. He took me to one of the Macs and helped me pre-order the watch. It was a quick process.

The Good of Pre-Ordering-

- I got what I wanted
- It did not take a long time
- I get it shipped to my house.

The bad about Pre-Ordering-

- I have to wait until June to get my hands on it
- I had to buy a $500 Apple Store Gift card since I did not have a credit card on file.

Overall Experience-

Overall, It was a great experience. Both employees were super nice and they assisted me immediately. I have no complaints.

Did you Pre-Order an Apple Watch? If so, what moddle did you get? How much did you spend? And How long do you have to wait until you get it in your hands?

Did you also setup a try on Appointment? How was your experience?

Let me know down below.

Welcome to my Brand New Digital Solutions blog

Welcome to my brand new Digital Solutions blog. In this blog, I will talk about my experiences with IT and the digital part of helping others with their problems.

First of All, let me introduce myself.

My name is Abdiel Ortiz. I am currently 17 years-old.

I am a person who has a passion for technology and software development. My goal is to graduate College with a phD in software engineering and start my own business on tech support. I am great with working with teams and Contributing to projects. I have great professionalism when it comes to working with others. I have great leadership and I get things done when needed.

Other than anything professional, I love to listen to music, spend time with friends, and read blogs about my interests. I am hardly active and almost never play any sports. I am kind of an odd person because I am serious most of the time.

Now that I got that out of the way, let me explain the reasoning for this blog.

I am currently part of a Digital Solutions group in my school district. We are a small group of six students and five adults. Our job is to help teachers in our building with their technology problems. With these blogs, we don't just write about our experiences, but also to write tips on how to get the best out of your technology.

In this team, we don't just use what we know about technology, but at the same time learn new things.

Hopefully you all can use these tips and tricks to help you with your use of technology. You can find me online on Twitter at @realabdielortiz and on about.me/abdiellortiz
